Iris Jones is the Chief Marketing and Client Development Officer of Akerman and oversees the firm’s client development team to advance the overall strategic plan and grow the firm’s client base. She works closely with Akerman’s leadership to build the firm’s brand equity and has extensive experience coaching, training, and providing business development support to all levels of stakeholders.
Before joining Akerman, Iris served as a chief business development and marketing officer for AmLaw 100 firms in Washington, D.C., and New York. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and previously practiced law in the public and private sectors. Iris is a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management and a Legal Marketing Association Hall of Fame inductee.
Michael Coston
CEO, Coston Consulting LLC
Michael Coston is the CEO of Coston Consulting, a certified Black-owned consulting firm that specializes in helping law firms advance their business generation, talent development, and culture goals. He is also a creator of The Elevate Curriculum – an eLearning program designed to help law firm associates and junior partners advance their client development skills.
Prior to launching Coston Consulting, Michael served as the CMO of McKool Smith. He previously developed business development initiatives at two AmLaw 100 law firms and served as Director of Marketing at a New York law firm.
Michael is recognized among Lawdragon’s “100 Leading Legal Consultants” and the “Top 100 Most Influential African American Leaders in Business” by The National Diversity Council. He also received a "Black Leadership Award" from Profiles in Diversity Journal.
